Bio: I served 24 years, 7 months and 12 days in the United States Army. Most of my time was served in the toughest Infantry units the Army has to offer, but never in any Special Operations units. My last 10 years I served as a Recruiter because my body told me enough is enough so I had to find an alternative way to continue service. During my last 10 years I learned that Recruiting duty during the height of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan was very demanding and stressful. The last 5 years of military service was by far the worst experience ever trying to hold on to a career I loved and proving to leadership I was able to continue, but my crippling body had other ideas and I was finally medically discharged in 2013. I struggled emotionally and physically since I have been retired. I guess this page is a way for me to share what I have learned through the retirement process and navigation of the Veterans Affairs programs.
